Free Myth-busting White Paper
- Please download this free white paper, which breaks down some of the fire service's misconceptions about online training. This special report explains how departments are adapting to changes in training delivery methods and in records management tools. Through a balanced use of technology departments are seeing tremendous improvements in operational efficiency.
Vernon Fire Rescue Services
Here at Vernon Fire Rescue Services prior to our involvement with TargetSolutions, our training division struggled with the documentation of recorded training hours along with getting curriculum to our members both career and volunteers. However, since joining TargetSolutions, we have all our training needs under one website. Uploading curriculum is an easy process which allows our members the flexibility to log in anywhere and see what training is upcoming while also allowing members access to the hundreds of accredited courses already available on the website. Further, the ability to generate reports outlining training activities with the click of a mouse has been a tremendous tool to keep our training on track. I encourage anyone who may struggle with the same issues we had prior to this to give Judy Smith a call at Global Risk Innovations to receive a demo. You won’t be disappointed.
~ Keith Green, Fire Chief
Mississauga Fire & Emergency Services
“The online solution has greatly improved the ability of the Training Division to assign and track the completion of all mandatory training programs and staff certifications. As one of Canada's largest urban fire departments we have managed to streamline our training management system and record keeping….. the online solution provides a very simple but powerful platform as the backbone of our system. The system also enables computer based training and one of the most popular features with our staff is the Resource File Center where we have consolidated key links and files. I am very pleased with the system”.
~ Shawn Matheson, Chief Training Officer
Oceanside California Fire Department
Pickering Fire Services
“Presently we are the only fire service in the region to use this state of the art computer training program. I suspect that once our peers in the Fire Service see the direct benefits of this computer based training program they will approach Medteq Solutions (Global Risk Innovations) for additional information.”
~ Gord Ferguson, Deputy Fire Chief
Peterborough Fire Services
"The Peterborough Fire Services has benefited from Global Risk Innovations’ On-Line Training since the Fall of 2009.
Mandatory training modules are assigned to the individual’s home page and can be completed within a flexible schedule. Custom lesson plans can be entered into the system which allows for flexibility of delivery in a classroom setting by the Captain at the station. On the records management side, the Captain is responsible for entering staff training records and the Platoon Chief has the capability of extracting reports showing those who may be delinquent in completing necessary training modules.
Global Risk Innovations on-line training has ensured effective and efficient training for the Peterborough Fire Service and has integrated positively with practical training."

Atomic Energy of Canada Limited
"The PreventionLink platform has become one of our monthly staples. Our firefighters and officer’s are required to complete a number of modules monthly which only serves to enhance all of the other training, whether theory or practical. I find that the records format keep me very informed and up to the minute with the progress of our firefighters, and also give me the ability to address any issues that may arise from the online training.
The custom activities manager has worked very well for our organization when used to deliver some our specialty training, as well as the resource centre with the information on various topics from around the country.
Once again, this program has become an integral component of our training and I see better things to come with it.
~ B. Kroes, Training Officer
